Kickstart – Funding gateway now open!
Richmondshire District Council are now an intermediary for The Kickstart scheme. If your business is looking to fill a vacancy then please complete the expression of interest form. The Kickstart scheme is for those aged 16-24, claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. Funding is available for each six month job placement and will cover 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. ApprenticeshipsThe Government will pay £2,000 per apprentice under the age of 25, and £1,500 for those aged 25 and over. This money is in addition to the existing £1,000 payment the Government already provides for new 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged under 25 with an Education, Health and Care plan. Employers can make a claim from 1st September 2020, and once there is a contract of employment and apprenticeship agreement in place. T LevelsT Levels are new, two year technical education courses that will follow GCSEs, and will be equivalent to three A Levels. They will offer students a mixture of classroom learning (80%) and ‘on-the-job’ experience in an industry placement (20%), providing the knowledge and experience needed to open the door into skilled employment, further study or a higher apprenticeship.
